Born in 1941 Dr ( Mrs.) Asha Singh began her primary education from Sophia Saharanpur and completed it from Oak Grove School, Jharipani, Mussoorie. She did her Intermediate from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandher and graduated (B.Sc.) from Maharaj Singh College, Saharanpur under Agra University. For M.Sc.(Botany) and Ph. D. she joined Meerut College. She held The Bursar's scholarship in M.Sc. and U.G.C. fellowship for Ph.D. She did her research under the supervision of Dr. V.Puri, a renowned Botanist of India. After Ph.D. she joined R.G. College, Meerut as a lecturer of Botany and was there for 33 Yrs. During her teaching career, She has, since then been a convener of several Societies in the College. Her main interest was the Debating Societies. She retired as Reader in Botany in 2001. She is still actively involved in teaching and visits two local colleges as a visiting faculty in Biotechnology.
Mr. Surendra Verma is a science journalist and author based in Melbourne, Australia since 1970. He has published numerous popular science books internationally, which have been translated into eight languages. He has been awarded two literature grants (2004 and 2007) by the Australian Council for Arts. In 2007 he was awarded the Honorary Membership of the Media, Arts and Entertainment Alliance for his contribution to Australian Journalism. His latest popular science book is 'Why Aren't They Here?' : The Question of Life on Other Worlds (Icon books, U.K.). Some of his other popular books are:- The mystery of the Tunguska Fireball (Icon,2005) and The Little Book of Scientific Principles, Theories Things (New Holland, 2005; Sterling Publishing, 2006), The Cause of Mosquitoes Sorrow ( Icon, 2007), a book about scientific breakthroughs, beginnings and blunders.
